No matter what your fitness goals are, I cannot emphasize how important having a support system is. Whether it’s your mom, sister, friend, coworker or trainer the accountability and support are crucial. I have been extremely blessed to meet a phenomenal group of men and women with the drive and motivation I can only strive for. I deeply admire their lifestyle and knowledge.
My training initially started when my friend Allison and I started doing group personal training sessions (it’s a great way to have personal training at a discounted price) with our Brazilian trainer, Garga. We were laughing at how huge my traps were and Garga suggested I do a competition…I LAUHED, again…”yea right!” About a month later after letting the concept set in I decided I would try my hand at competing.
Since then I have also began working with an amazing trainer Heather Eastman, who is a wealth of knowledge for both training and competing (having competed in figure for many years). What can I say, I am a luck girl! Between my trainers and the competition I have made many new friends and accountability partners. Not to mention the support of my amazing Friends and Family.
What I would suggest for you: ask someone if they will be your workout buddy and help keep you accountable. Talk to people about your goals often, trust me, it helps to keep yourself accountable…I am a lot less likely to pig out on chocolate and pizza when I’ve been talking to my friends and family about my goals J Have a workout buddy, even if you cant make it to the gym, this can be a coworker that you walk with on your lunch time!
